So how does Hydromx work?
Nano-particles are very small at 1×10-9 metre, or a billionth of a metre, with many millions of them in Hydromx, increasing the surface area within the fluid. A cup of nano-particles offers roughly the same surface area as almost two football pitches – and increased surface area = increased heat transfer capability.

Corrosion protection
Corrosion is a common problem that can cause the premature failure of zone valves, tanks and ball check valves. Corrosion prevention agents are added to systems but can lower the thermal conductivity of the water-based solution.

Scaling protection
‘Hard water’ high in mineral content may cause the build-up or scaling of mineral deposits in hydronic heating/cooling systems. In systems that use other types of heat transfer fluids (such as glycol and anti-freeze), scaling can occur on the surface of the heat exchanger.

Freezing & burst protection
Glycol is the most common anti-freeze agent to protect systems against freezing temperatures. But it also reduces the thermal conductivity of fluid within the system.

In cooling systems Hydromx transfers heat 37% faster than water, transferring the same amount of heat in a much shorter time. The energy efficiency of Hydromx is based on reducing the run time of compressors and increasing the required ambient temperature limits for free-cooling up to 5 – 6ºC.
In heating systems Hydromx reduces system run time by transferring energy faster and more efficiently. Thus the same amount of energy is transferred much faster, creating efficiency and savings.
